This slab formwork calculator is an essential tool for engineers and builders working with monolithic slabs. It enables you to accurately estimate the quantity and specifications of formwork components—including props, beams, and decking—to ensure the safety and reliability of reinforced concrete floor slabs.

The primary functions of the calculator are:

  • Estimating the required number of props, beams, and decking for slab formwork.
  • Assessing the strength and stability of props and beams based on specified parameters.
  • Calculating the total area and number of formwork elements.

To use the calculator, follow these steps:

  1. Specify the slab thickness and the height to its underside.
  2. Enter the spacing between the main beams (spacing A), props (spacing B), and secondary beams (spacing C).
  3. If you need to compute the amount of formwork, input the room dimensions and layout of the main beams.
  4. Set the parameters for the props, including material, grade, and cross-sectional dimensions.
  5. Provide similar parameters for the main and secondary beams, as well as for the decking.

After entering all data, click the "Calculate" button. The results will indicate structural compliance: blue for compliant designs and red for those that do not meet the design requirements.

The calculator also computes the total amount of formwork needed for the monolithic slab, displaying the result in a table below the "Calculate" button.

Important: The load calculation assumes a concrete density of 2500 kg/m3 with appropriate safety factors applied. The results should be used to verify your own calculations.
