The Bond Beam Calculator is designed to conveniently compute the quantity of materials needed for constructing a reinforced bond beam in brick or block houses. Bond beams serve to tie walls together, transfer loads from floors and roofs, and enhance the lateral stability of a structure.

With this online calculator, you can determine the following parameters for a bond beam:

  • The volume of concrete required for pouring the bond beam.
  • The weight and length of the rebar needed for reinforcement.
  • The number and weight of stirrups used to tie the reinforcement bars together.

Instructions for using the calculator:

  1. Enter the width of the bond beam (A).
  2. Enter the height of the bond beam (B).
  3. Specify the number of main reinforcement bars (default is 4 pcs).
  4. Set the diameter of the main reinforcement bars (the recommended diameter for standard construction is 12 mm).
  5. Specify the diameter of the stirrups (the recommended diameter is 8 mm).
  6. Determine the spacing of the stirrups (for most structures, the spacing is 300 mm).
  7. Enter the total length of the bond beam.
  8. Click the "Calculate" button to get the results.

After completing the calculation, you will receive accurate data on the amount of concrete, the length and weight of the rebar, as well as the number and weight of stirrups needed for the bond beam. This will help you plan material purchases precisely and avoid overconsumption.

For reference:

  • The density of steel is 7850 kg/m3.
  • The thickness of the concrete protective layer is usually taken between 10-15 mm.
